TALTEK Commercial Roofing removed the existing roof system and installed a new fully adhered Johns Manville TPO roof assembly with a tapered insulation package. The project included new flashings, drainage upgrades, and perimeter detailing to deliver long-term protection backed by a 20-Year NDL Johns Manville Warranty and a 2-Year Contractor Warranty.

Frost Bank Plaza was experiencing widespread waterproofing and coating failure across its rooftop and balcony surfaces. Aging coatings, deteriorated penetrations, and exposed substrates created ongoing water intrusion concerns and threatened the long-term performance of the building envelope. The property required a comprehensive restoration solution that could be completed while maintaining normal building operations.

TALTEK Commercial Roofing restored approximately 22,000 square feet of rooftop and balcony surfaces using a high-performance Soprema PMMA waterproofing system. The project included removal of failed coatings, substrate preparation, fleece-reinforced waterproofing installation, coping restoration, and replacement of the rooftop lightning protection system. Upon completion, Frost Bank Plaza received a fully restored waterproofing assembly backed by a 20-Year No Dollar Limit manufacturer warranty, providing long-term protection and durability for the facility.

Krusteaz, a leading food manufacturing company, required a complete roof replacement at its Hopkinsville, KY facility. The existing roof had reached the end of its service life, and a durable, long-lasting solution was essential to protect the facility’s operations. TALTEK Commercial Roofing was selected to perform the full roof replacement using an FM Approved Johns Manville Fully Adhered TPO Roof System.

 

TALTEK Commercial Roofing removed the existing roof down to the deck, replaced any compromised decking, and installed a high-performance Johns Manville Fully Adhered TPO roofing system. The project included installing multiple layers of insulation for enhanced energy efficiency, securing all roof penetrations with precision flashing, and finishing with a durable metal drip edge. This was a roof we had been servicing for a few years to minimize leaks until the client built up the budget for a new roof.

We removed the existing membrane, inspected the existing EPS insulation for any moisture.  If it was wet we replaced the insulation.

A new ½” high density insulation was installed with a new mechanically attached .60 mil TPO.

As always, we never consider a roof complete until it is as clean as a showroom floor.  Our client now has a 20 year warrantied roof that also looks great!

Lakeside Office Buildings

TALTEK serviced these roofs for years, extending the life of the roofs, to allow the client to build up the funds for new roofs.

These buildings have ballast EPDM roof systems on them.  It’s common to do away with the rock ballast roof and replace with a TPO roof, but the budget did not allow for that in this case.  Our team provided a ballast swap out which is the most economical option when a ballast roof is currently in place.  Ballast roofs are great roofs; they are just more challenging in the case of leak due to having to move the gravel on top of the membrane to locate the source of a leak.

We removed the existing membrane, installed new .60 mil EPDM and replaced any bad or wet insulation we discovered.

Once the new membrane had been installed, we reapplied the rock ballast and provided our client with a 20-year warrantied roof system.

Malone Plaza

This project was 100,000 square feet re-roof in upstate New York for a National account. Our client was in urgent need of a new roof and local contractors could not meet the timeline requirement. Taltek’s Nashville based commercial roofing installation contractors were awarded the project and completed it in less than 60 calendar days. This project was 60,000 square feet EPDM Ballast swap out with new R-40 insulation and 40,000 square feet of new mechanically attached EPDM over new R-40 insulation. TALTEK was able to come in under our client’s budget and time frame. Our client now has a 20-year warrantied roof system.
