Q. Do you offer free estimates?

A. Yes, we do a complete digital inspection of your roof. We also check the attic for bad wood and ventilation issues.

Q. My roof is not that old but it looks bad and is worn out. It was supposed to be a 25-30 year shingle when I bought it, but it has only been on for 10-15 years?

A. A roof’s useful life expectancy is determined by a number of factors. A manufacturer’s designation of a “25 year warranty shingle” is a guideline and a roof may or may not last that long depending on weather, roof ventilation and a number of other naturally occurring factors. Most roofs in our region last between 15-18 years depending on the type and quality of shingle installed. Proper ventilation can greatly influence the life span of any given roof as well as other factors.

Q. How do I find a reliable Roofing Company?

A. No matter what region you’re located in, you’re bound to come across the “Fly by Night Roofers” and “Storm Chasers,” who make preying on desperate home owners their forte. Many Storm Chasers from out of state go door to door and advertise as though they are locally based companies. After the storm business is over they disappear faster than they arrived! Still, other “Roofing Companies” set up shop after a severe storm to make a quick dollar then are out of business after wards. If someone knocks on your door to ask about a roof repair ask for and check the following:

• Ask to see their Driver’s license
• Check the license plate on their truck.
• Check with the Better Business Bureau at www.bbb.org
• Check on the Secretary of State’s Web site to see if they are registered as a “Foreign Corporation” or if they are registered at all.
• Make sure any roofing company you use presents you with current proof of Liability and Workman’s Compensation Insurance.

Q. How much will my roof cost me?

A. The average roof today generally costs somewhere in the range of $6,000-$7,000. Of course, there will be some variations in pricing due to the size of the home and the square footage of the roof. It is important that you compare “apples to apples” when receiving estimates for your roof. The quality of the roofing materials and experience of the installation crew will certainly play a factor in determining the price of a quality installation. Q. How long will my roofing install take?

A. Most roofing installations take one (1) to 1 1/2 days depending on the size of the roof and the time of year. If someone is taking longer than that on a normal sized roof, odds are they are severely understaffed and you’ll most likely continue to have problems with your installer.

Q. Can you work with my Homeowner’s Insurance Company directly to get my roof problems taken care of?

A. Yes, we work with insurance adjusters of all companies. We will do our best to make sure you get the roof you need and deserve.
